Fibromyalgia- what this is and how massage can benefit!

This week I will be discussing Fibromyalgia, what it involves and how massage can help. A couple of my friends are currently dealing with Fibromyalgia, so it is a subject close to my heart. It is a chronic musculoskeletal condition that affects and causes pain throughout the entire body, from head to toe. It affects a significantly higher percentage of women than men, and causes tension headaches, fatigue, stiffness, and difficulty sleeping. No one has yet to find out the cause of Fibromyalgia, which leaves it's victims feeling even more anxious, not really knowing how to relieve the pain. So how can massage ease the pain/feelings connected to fibromyalgia? Well.. Let me tell you. Massage can decrease the stress hormones and increase the serotonin in your body. This will improve your mood and sense of wellbeing. Massage will also relax your body, slowly your heartbeat to a resting heartbeat which in turn will improve your sleep quality. My Swedish massage will release the parts of the body that have been made tight, and increase mobility in order to take on physical tasks. Massage also increases circulation and helps the body to clear out toxins within the muscles. I feel for anyone who experiences pain, and if I can decrease this pain even a little or make you feel more at ease then I have done my job ❤️.
